SUNDAY NIGHT TRAINING

Sunday Night Ball Handling

These sessions are built for players who want to build confidence and make the right decisions when handling the ball. This training focuses on the essential concepts that separate good guards from great ones. Major focuses on change of speed, balance, and direction. These are necessary skills to have while handling pressure and creating scoring opportunities.

Players will drill precise footwork, understand good angles on drives, and learn how to read and react to defenders. Through a mix of high-intensity drills and live competition, athletes will improve their ability to stay composed under pressure, protect the ball, and finish strong at the rim.

Training Focus Areas:

  • Change of speed and direction to create separation

  • Balance and control through footwork progressions

  • Driving angles and body positioning to beat defenders

  • Responding to ball pressure with poise and efficiency

  • Finishing at the rim through contact and over length

  • Game-realistic reps and decision-making under pressure

Sunday Night Shooting

Our Shooting Sessions are designed to build a comfortable shooting motion that leads to consistent results. This training emphasizes the key elements that make a player’s shots become more efficient and effective. With a focus on footwork, ball placement, and proper shooting form, athletes will develop the skills needed to become consistent within their shooting on all areas of the court.

Training will cover the fundamentals: shooting on the catch, starting with proper footwork, establishing a consistent shooting pocket, and ball placement. We’ll also focus on the mechanics of lifting and releasing the ball, ensuring the shot is clean, quick, and accurate timing. Lastly, using your vision to read and react to defenders to create open shooting opportunities.

Training Focus Areas:

  • Footwork: Developing a balanced, explosive base for quick, accurate shots off the catch.

  • Shooting on the Catch: Efficiently transitioning from receiving the ball to a smooth, quick release.

  • Ball Placement/Shooting Pocket: Ensuring the ball is held in the ideal spot for consistency and power.

  • Form for Lifting and Releasing: Focusing on proper hand placement, lift, and follow-through for accuracy.
